When we tried the Kästle models in January 2018, we thought they showed potential, so we decided to include the brand in the 2019 reviews.

The Kastle RX12 SL was selected for the "Slalom" category and was a great surprise. The testers found the ski easy to handle for this category and gave it plenty of praise: "I loved it," "Perfect flex for me," and "An easy slalom ski" were some of the comments.

The performance is not quite as good as the Rossignol Hero Elite St Ti R22, but it is more than adequate. The ski is lively, responsive, and a lot of fun. One tester said, “It’s so fun skiing on an easy slalom ski!"

Heavier testers found the tail a bit soft, which reduced edge grip and rebound at the end of the turn. To get the most stiffness and grip, the skier needs to be really forward on the RX12 SL.

We recommend the RX12 SL for strong intermediates and advanced athletic recreational skiers, who are light or average weight, looking to make short-radius turns.
