Head Worldcup Rebels i.Speed review 2020

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The test length of the Head World Cup Rebels i.Speed was too short (175 cm instead of the 180 cm requested). With an 18 m radius, it is not a typical GS ski.

The ski is easy to use, almost “too easy,” and is "a lot of fun." Performance is good but not like the skis that rank at the top of this category. The testers especially liked its ability to enter into the turn, to hold the line, and its stability up to a certain speed. The ski is very “enjoyable,” lively, and accessible for this category. It is a ski that makes you want try carving and incline your whole body into the turn to create big edge angles. It excels at this activity. According to the testers, the World Cup Rebels I.Speed is a ski that is “made to lean into the turn and has a rebound that you can control.”

The World Cup Rebels i.Speed is fairly soft for this category, less like a GS ski than the other skis in this category, and the test length was a bit short. So, the ski lags behind the competition in terms of performance alone. At very high speed, in very dynamic turns, edge grip deteriorates and the turns are less stable.

"A good carving ski," the Head WorldCup i.Speed is a great choice for advanced to expert skiers who like to “create big edge angles.”

Manufacturer's remarks

An expert ski for aggressive precise turns. The unique sandwich construction and piezoelectric system make the ski a weapon for racing. Equipped with Kers (or Kinetic Energy Recovery System), a piezoelectric system, the ski stores energy created with speed and releases it at the end of each turn.
