Black Crows Camox Freebird review 2019
PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments
Already selected and reviewed last year, the Camox Freebird from Black Crows did incredibly well this year with a new version and a new design featuring an updated core. The result is amazing.
On the groomers, it is very versatile and provides good edge grip and outstanding stability. The Camox Freebird is well-balanced, determined, easy to maneuver, and playful.
Off-piste, the ski is flawless. It performs particularly well in powder and chopped-up snow.
Weighing in at 1.6 kg per ski for 171cm, it is one of the heavier skis in our review.
"The ultimate freeride touring ski," the Camox Freebird is definitely a bit heavier but makes up for the weight handicap with its excellent downhill performance. We recommend it for all skiers looking for an all-round ski that they can use on groomed slopes as well as for touring and freeride skiing. Most of the testers felt that the 178 cm was a bit short and recommended the longer version (183 cm) for average size skiers.

Manufacturer's remarks
One of the best mid-fat freeride skis, the new Camox Freebird features an updated core and a shorter ABS sidewall. It is livelier and has more edge grip than its predecessor. More importantly, the new Camox Freebird is much lighter, which makes a lot of difference in a touring ski.
