While the Dynastar Speed Zone 78 Pro scored well in the “Easy Cruisers” category, its big brother (at 82 mm in the waist), struggled to do well in the Cruisers category where the performance level was higher.

Overall performance is good. The testers were particularly impressed by the stability of the ski. In addition, its 82-mm waist gives it an advantage in soft or variable snow.

Despite the “Pro” construction and Titanal plate, the ski is still relatively soft, especially in the tip. The Speed Zone 4x4 lacks agility. The tip lacks energy and has too much rocker, so it struggles to engage to initiate the turn quickly. The rebound is not very dynamic either.

For the same reasons, edge grip is mediocre when you load the front of the ski. The ski recovers and gets a better grip if you get centered on the ski again, and if you launch into long carving turns where the ski is very comfortable.

The Speed Zone 4x4 Pro is not an ideal ski if you like to really press on the tongue of the boot when you ski. But it is a good ski for skiers who want a ski that is comfortable in all types of snow and who want to discover the joys of carving.
