Fischer RC One 72 review 2020

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The trend in the industry is to merge the frontside, all-round, and all-mountain ranges together and to offer a variety of widths. The Fischer RC One range is no exception and has waists ranging from 72 mm to 86 mm!

We tested the narrowest ski in the range, the RC One 72 Multiflex, and we can say right off the bat, it did not disappoint our testers.

Overall performance is excellent. Quick turn initiation, edge grip, stability, and turn quality are all very good. The ski is also “reliable,” “confidence-inspiring,” and “versatile.” It can vary the type and size of the turn; it can carve, slide, skid, and transition from small to large turns whenever it wants. The rebound is good, but not explosive.

The ultimate carving ski, it stands out for its ability to flex and to get great edge grip by creating huge edge angles, while still making the skier feel safe. Even if you really lean into to the turn, the edge hold is still incredibly solid, and the ski doesn’t break away.

The Fischer RC One 72 is a “really nice ski” that we recommend to a wide range of skiers from very advanced to expert, who are looking for an all-round ski that is especially good at aggressive carved turns.

Review: Pros

  • Overall performance
  • Capable of creating and holding big edge angles
  • Holds the line
  • Versatile in turn type and size
  • Transitions easily from skidded to carved turn

Review: Cons

  • You need to create edge angle to get the most out of it (but you can also ski in a more relaxed manner)
  • Requires good technical ability
  • Edge grip and performance are slightly weaker at very high speed
