Roxy Kaya Pro review 2019

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The Roxy Kaya Pro is incredibly user-friendly.

In fact, it is very "easy to ski," forgiving, and enjoyable. The testers particularly liked the fact that the ski is "without limits" and yet needs little effort or aggressiveness from the skier.

It is also a ski that will help skiers to progress. You can cruise along making skidded turns and then gradually progress to more technical turns... up to a certain point, that is. In fact, the ski is less comfortable making aggressive turns at high speed. Turn initiation is not very precise and the edge loses grip if you pressure the ski too much.

The Kaya Pro is a very good choice for intermediate female skiers who want to improve or more experienced skiers looking for a smooth easy ski.

Review: Pros

  • Accessible
  • Requires little physical effort
  • An easy, forgiving ski
  • Adaptable so skiers can make technical progress

Review: Cons

  • A soft ski
  • Lacks bite at the beginning of the turn
  • Mediocre performance in dynamic turns at high speed

Manufacturer's remarks

Make a statement on the groomers this winter with the brand new Kaya Pro. Strategically-placed titanium stabilizers and a premium stepdown sidewall construction provide amazing edge grip and responsiveness. Thanks to our new Polyfly core, the Kaya Pro is lightweight, easy to control, and durable. With its “Piste Rocker” (a very slight early rise in the tip), you will be as comfortable on hardpack as in the fresh stuff. Lap more runs, turn heads, and live it up this winter, both on the slopes and at après-ski.
