Rossignol Scratch Open review 2014

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The Scratch already caught our attention last year, and it remains a reference in this category which requires a high level of performance both in the park and on piste. An excellent choice for average to confirmed freestylers looking for a tool that's both playful and efficient.

Review: Pros

  • The Rossignol Scratch Open can do everything. Extremely versatile, the ski is truly nimble on the piste and in the park, in (virtually) all situations.
  • It's pure pleasure on the groom. The Scratch is a ski that won't let you down and you can push it hard with no worries. Turn initiation is fast and intuitive, making the ski lively and playful. Carved turns are incisive with pit-bull grip and edge hold.
  • In the park, it also performs well in every area, displaying good pop and zippy rebound, as well as good manoeuvrability in aerial skiing.
  • To top it all, the Scratch will give its all and ask for nothing in return. The ski is amazingly easy to use and you only need to ride it a few metres to get the hang of it.

Review: Cons

  • The base lacks slide though, losing points for the ski on the rails.
  • Because it's very light (logical, given its accessibility), it performs less well on hard pack and at breakneck speed on the piste.
