Stöckli Stormrider VXL review 2013

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

Another ProSkiLab™ reviewers "Coup de coeur" favourite, the Stormrider is an excellent ski for the "Versatile Freeride" 70% piste/30% off-piste category. The ski offers great performance but is extremely demanding and is therefore not for everyone. We recommend it for sports-oriented skiers with good technical skills (from good to expert) who're looking for a high-performing all-mountain ski.

Review: Pros

  • Its overall performance on the runs is quite simply remarkable. The ski is (very) easy to handle, initiates precision turns immediately, has great edge control and performs well throughout the ride. The testers loved its qualities at very high speeds, when the ski was truly reassuring. Rigid and very stable, it won't flinch when you step up the pace.
  • Off-piste, it will take you anywhere, stays afloat remarkably well in the powder and carves tracks with ease, even in difficult snow and crud.

Review: Cons

  • This is a true sports ski and requires a good deal of physical engagement.
