Rossignol Radical 9SL Slantnose Ti Box review 2013

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

Like the 9 GS Rossignol sent us for the Slalom, the 9SL offers an excellent compromise between performance, versatility and accessibility. An excellent choice for good to expert skiers who want a high-performance ski but one that's not too technically or physically demanding and which remains relatively versatile.

Review: Pros

  • The 9SL, a good Slalom ski, is lively, responsive, playful, has good grip, is highly manoeverable and particularly easy to ski in short turns. At the same time, it's remarkably accessible and docile. It's also a versatile ski so you can combine dynamic and leisurely skiing as and when you like.

Review: Cons

  • Very accessible, but this version of the 9SL is limited when it comes to pure performance, especially on hard pack and when compared with the Dynastar.

Manufacturer's remarks

The new Radical 9SL Slant Nose Ti is a full-throttle, fall line slalom ski for technical and race league skiers. World Cup sandwich construction, oversize technology and Power Turn Rocker combine for a powerful and agile short-turn radius ripper. Power Turn Rocker delivers faster turn initiation for more aggressive lines, while Slant Nose asymmetrical tips improve swing weight to put the ski on edge even faster. The 9SL is a full-on uber-carve tool with a ton of energy and snap for precise, short turn arching.
