K2 Ironmaiden review 2013
PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments
The Ironmaiden is definitely the most versatile ski we tested, but it lacks performance on the runs and in the park compared to its more specialised counterparts. On the other hand, we'd certainly recommend this ski to average skiers who'd like to start freestyle and freeride skiing.
Review: Pros
- The K2 Ironmaiden is a great all mountain park ski and is equally at home on groomed runs, in the park and on powder. The ski is truly versatile, and gives good performance in every type of curve and turn on the runs.
- Its wide tip and flexibity gives it a real advantage when off-piste, where, although although we didn't put it through really intense testing, it displayed undeniable qualities.
- It performed well overall in the park.
Review: Cons
- Despite its versatility and accessibility, the ski's performance is limited by its lack of stiffness. On the piste, carving control is reduced as soon as the pace is stepped up. In the park, the ski's flexibility makes landing from high jumps more difficult.

Manufacturer's remarks
Iconic rockers Iron Maiden and K2 will slay snow and metal together again this winter with the release of the new “Iron Maiden”. Inspired by the Troopers single album art, this ski is built on the proven Recoil chassis to triumph over the wholemountain or harsh urban features when not spinning park laps. The unmatched durability of the Iron Maiden’s ABSorb sidewalls will take all the thrashing you can give, whether on hard-hittinglandings in the park or hair-raising bombdrops in the city.
