Dynastar Sultan 85 review 2011
PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments
The Sultan 85 is a very good, well-balanced mixed ski, 50% freeride/50% piste. Dynastar has developed a true all-rounder here, a "4-wheel drive" that's able to adapt to all situations. It's suitable for a wide range of skiers, from competent freeriders who want to make progress to pro riders. Just make sure you don't choose one that's too short.
Review: Pros
- The Sultan 85 (85 mm underfoot) displays especially good performance and versatility on the piste. It's easy to handle and has good grip, and is highly skiable in all types of turns, both entering and coming out of the turn. This is a great tool, and is enjoyable and fun to use on groomed slopes while confirming its excellent performance off-piste, where it's especially versatile and at ease in all snow conditions and on all terrains. The all-round qualities and accessibility make this a great "progress-making" ski.
Review: Cons
- The 178cm ski was judged a bit short for our reviewers to enjoy its full potential ("average+" builds betwwen 75 and 80 kg), particularly in freeride.
