Elan Amphibio 16 Ti2 review 2016

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

An ideal leisure ski, the Amphibio 16 from Elan did very well in the "Man’s High-end" category where versatility and consistency are the main qualities required. We warmly recommend it for average to good skiers who want an easy and comfortable ski to rip down the mountain with a minimum of effort.

Review: Pros

  • Highly accessible
  • A consistent and agreeable ski
  • Easy to handle in short turns
  • Able to adapt to radius and turns (skid, carves…)
  • A comfortable ski that cushions the terrain on landing and requires little physical effort

Review: Cons

  • The ski requires a period of adaptation, probably because of its dissymmetry (there’s a right ski and a left ski)
  • In particular, requires good positioning (balance in front and behind)
  • Performance slightly disappointing

Manufacturer's remarks

The Amphibio 16 Ti2 Fusion is a must have for proficient riders who love radical carving as much as alternating short and long turns.
With the Amphibio technology (combining a camber and a rocker) in addition to the benefits offered by the Dual Shaped Ti revolution (the skis are convex in front and concave behind), this ski makes turn initiation easy while also offering solid grip.
Riders can at last give the maximum performance with the minimum of effort. The RST sidewalls and the Force Woodcore increase responsiveness and facilitate edging, while the light DualTi (double titanal plate) makes for explosive carving.
