Rossignol Attraxion VIII Echo review 2011

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

A first class ski for beginners and intermediary learners, the Attraxion 8's performance is too limited to rank high in the "Advanced" category. It's still an excellent choice for middle of the road skiers who are looking for user-friendliness and pleasure above all. Skiers looking to attack steep slopes on hard snow will be better off chooosing a more sports-oriented product.

Review: Pros

  • The Rossignol Attraxion 8 is highly user-friendly. Easy to hold and to handle, particularly comfortable in skid turns, the reviewers were impressed by its accessibility and its comfort. The ski is also exceptionally polyvalent, capable of varying turns and evolving some categories of terrain. Best of all, it's fun to use, with great ski/snow contact. A truly agreeable ski.

Review: Cons

  • The downside is that the Attraxion 8 pays for its accessibility in terms of performance. Once you start to hit the higher speeds, the ski quickly shows its limitations. The wide spatula, which is highly effective at slower speeds, drifts at high speeds. On harder terrains with steeper slopes and especially dynamic turns, the over flexible ski tends to lose its grip.

Manufacturer's remarks

For the green-minded women skier. The Echo VIII uses minimal environmentally un-friendly materials, fewer petroleum-based products and lacquers. The ski features a wood core and natural fibers. But... this environmentally-friendly ski is no slouch on the slope. Women skiers can charge the whole mountain in any terrain on these boards. They are designed for expert women skiers seeking the ideal one-ski-quiver for carving and skiing off-piste. Built with Rossignol's women's F.I.T. technology to enhance lightness and maneuverability.
