PROSKILAB™ reviewers comments

Unanimous favourite with the PROSKILAB reviewers, Stöckli’s Stormrider 88 placed the bar a little bit higher, becoming a market benchmark. On piste, it does its job well. It’s very well balanced, globally efficient ski, with good grip that holds astonishingly well in turns for an "all mountain" ski. When we step up the pace, the turns are still remarkably clean and the ski remains exceptionally stable. Icing on the cake, the Stormrider 88 gives an impression of lightness and facility that's highly enjoyable. Turn initiation, in particular, is very responsive and requires little effort. Off-piste, it retains its qualities and is docile and easy to handle. It cushions the terrain incredibly well and cuts through lumps of crud with no effort. It’s a reassuring ski that will help less adventurous riders to engage with confidence. In our opinion, it’s one of the best skis on the market in this All Mountain 70% piste/30% freeride category. We recommend it for a wide range of riders who’re looking for an extremely versatile ski that’s happy both on and off piste and... and who have a nice thick wallet, as the Swiss brand is not renowned for being especially cheap; the recommended retail price for this model is 900 euros. We should also point out that really athletic and heavier riders will probably prefer the Kendo, which is stiffer and more performance-oriented.

Manufacturer's remarks

Comfort, performance, user-friendly, it’s the ski that does everything!
An absolute jewel! You immediately get a sensation of comfort and lightness underfoot (Balsa core). The Swiss performance has not been forgotten and, for engaged riders, there are absolutely no limits.
